
Inverted Photograms
1. Place objects on darkroom paper:
Transparent stuff, interesting silhouettes, anything really. Flatten with glass to reduce blurry effect. Use RC paper
2. Expose:
Typical exposure for a print, contrast filters work. I like high contrast, but textured objects like low contrast
3. Print normally:
Stop here if you want, you don’t have to invert!
4. Dry:
If you are going to invert (like I do), you NEED a print dryer
5. Prepare paper sandwich:
Emulsion to emulsion, pressed under glass. Add small weights to the edges of glass (or hold down) to get clearest image
6. Expose:
Usually about 10x a typical exposure, sometimes more. It takes a lot to get through the paper negative.
7. Print normally:
Stop here if you want, you don’t have to invert!
