Inverted Photograms

1. Place objects on darkroom paper:

Transparent stuff, interesting silhouettes, anything really. Flatten with glass to reduce blurry effect. Use RC paper

2. Expose:

Typical exposure for a print, contrast filters work. I like high contrast, but textured objects like low contrast

3. Print normally:

Stop here if you want, you don’t have to invert!

4. Dry:

If you are going to invert (like I do), you NEED a print dryer

5. Prepare paper sandwich:

Emulsion to emulsion, pressed under glass. Add small weights to the edges of glass (or hold down) to get clearest image

6. Expose:

Usually about 10x a typical exposure, sometimes more. It takes a lot to get through the paper negative.

7. Print normally:

Stop here if you want, you don’t have to invert!
